Description Our Bartender/Server is responsible for preparing and serving drinks as well as food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. This role involves a thorough knowledge of cocktails and wines, taking orders and delivering food, as well as maintaining a clean dining environment while addressing customer needs with a professional and friendly attitude. Our Bartender/Servers play a key role in creating a positive impression of Sorrentino's Cucina + Bar and contributing to a high standard of guest satisfaction. Responsibilities - Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere. - Have in-depth knowledge of beverage offerings, including wine, spirits, and beer. - Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and ensure timely service. - Be thoroughly familiar with the restaurant's menu, including specials and promotions. - Ensure all products are prepared and served according to Sorrentino's specifications, with accurate measurements of alcohol and strict adherence to all liquor regulations. - Ensure all menu changes, special requests and allergies are communicated effectively to the kitchen. - Regularly clean and restock bar supplies, ensuring that all tools and ingredients are ready for use. - Act as a liaison between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure seamless service. - Assist in pre-shift preparation and post-shift cleanup to ensure the restaurant is always ready for guests. - Engage in suggestive selling and upselling techniques to increase guest satisfaction and sales. - Handle payments accurately, processing cash and credit card transactions. - Follow all company policies and procedures, including liquor laws, health codes and operational standards. - Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications - Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment (3-5 years preferred). - Prior bartending experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment. - ProServe Certification required. - Fluent in English. - Full availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. - Knowledge of point of sale (POS) systems and basic cash handling. - Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace while maintaining composure under pressure. - Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and optimal memorization skills. - Maintain professionalism, cleanliness, and personal hygiene at all times. - A genuine passion for the restaurant industry and providing excellent customer service.
