POSITION SUMMARY: TIPS Personnel is a groundbreaking recruitment agency reshaping the staffing industry landscape. We are looking for a qualified Painter/Sandblaster to join our team in a warehouse in Nisku, AB. Your role would include airless spraying and industrial equipment like structural rig equipment, heavy equipment, etc. It would also be a bonus to know sandblasting metal parts and ensure all work is done in a safe and timely manner. You will report to the Warehouse in Nisku, AB., and are expected to work on the day and/or night shifts as the warehouse is open 7 days a week. The day shift hours are 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, and you will work 4 days on and 2 days off. Night shift is Monday to Friday 4:30 PM – 1-1:30 AM with every other Saturday. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Painters must be able to do and have experince in airless spray painting and can also work with all kinds of paint types. - Have to be able to work with a high PSI hose. No cabinet blasters. - Have experince doing spray painting with a big pump that can spray with air but can do big quantities like 5-50 gallons an hour. - Utilize specialty coatings materials for cleaning and coating structural steel and piping for industrial and commercial projects. - Has experience using epoxy 2-component paint, and single-component industrial enamels, and 2-component urethanes. - Read and interpret blueprints. Inspect Surfaces for contamination before the application of paint. Ensure proper coverage and smooth finish on all painted surfaces. - Paint using one or a combination of sprays. Operate equipment used to abrasive blast, spray, and coat. - Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance when necessary. - Sandblast all types of parts. - Maintenance of sandblast equipment. - Apply primer and bonding agents with a brush and roller. - Meet production targets and timelines on various jobs. - Operate equipment safely. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - Must have at least two (2) year of work experience in the same field. - Able to read blueprints and follow written work instructions in the English language. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. - Industrial sandblasters have to be able to work outside in the elements. - Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of industrial painting processes. - Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and other equipment related to painting. - Familiarity with machining techniques and lean manufacturing principles. - Ability to weld and fabricate as needed for painting projects. - Basic math skills for measuring and calculating paint quantities. - Experience with a variety of paints, mostly made by Cloverdale, PPG, and Azko Nobel. - Positive attitude in a team environment. - Dependable with a strong work ethic. - Must have reliable transportation. - Must have Steel-toed boots and Coveralls DETAILS: - This position may involve working in various industrial settings. - Job Type: Full-time - Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience If you are a skilled Industrial Painter with a passion for quality workmanship and meet the requirements outlined above, we encourage you to apply today with your resume.
