Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 30 hours per week Education: No degree, certificate or diploma Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years Work site setting Dusty Noisy Work setting Manufacture Tasks Interpret welding process specifications Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC) Determine weldability of materials Operate hoisting and lifting equipment Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line Read blueprints and drawings Type of materials Stainless steel Steel, iron and heavy metals Equipment and machinery experience Arc welding machine Gas welding machine Transportation/travel information Own transportation Own vehicle Work conditions and physical capabilities Standing for extended periods Weight handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Own tools/equipment Steel-toed safety boots Personal suitability Effective interpersonal skills Excellent oral communication Organized Team player Punctuality Hardworking Resourcefulness Screening questions Are you authorized to work in Canada?
