The Recreation Assistant at Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre plans, organizes and promotes a variety of meaningful recreation, leisure and social activities for clients based on their interests and abilities. The position operates under the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications High School diploma or recognized equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications Must be eligible to obtain a valid Class 4 driver’s license and indicate details within the resume or cover letter. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications to support effective communication, documentation, and scheduling within the care environment. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and an approach that iscompassionate, patient, and respectful.
Preferred Qualifications Recreation Therapy Assistant Diploma is preferred. Recent experience supporting recreational programming in long term care, supportive living or assisted living. Experience with Connect Care.
Hiring Requirements Security Screening: As a condition of employment, all employees are required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and disclose any previous convictions, record suspensions or pardons for sexual assault or other sexual offences to Covenant Health prior to commencement of any work, including training or orientation shifts.
