Park Landscaping Ltd. is expanding its construction operations and is seeking a Supervisor– Production of Soil Mixes for Construction Development Projects. The successful candidate will supervise and coordinate heavy equipment operator crews involved in soil extraction, testing, mixing, and delivery for large‑scale construction projects that require compliance with standardized, science‑based soil specifications.
As a Supervisor– Production of Soil Mixes for Construction Development Projects you are required to have your own reliable transportation to get to and from various job sites in the Edmonton and surrounding areas. Our workshop and yard are located at 20924, 100 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5T 5X8.
Job Duties This role will perform the following duties:
Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of heavy equipment operator crews engaged in soil excavation, extraction, mixing, and delivery
Establish and adjust work methods and procedures to meet soil mix specifications, production schedules, and project deadlines
Coordinate soil sampling and testing activities for base soils and mixed products in collaboration with internal staff and external laboratories
Interpret soil test results and supervise the adjustment of soil mix recipes from laboratory scale to full heavy equipment production
Ensure operational compliance with approved soil mix recipes through ongoing monitoring, sampling, and corrective instruction to equipment operators
Identify production or quality issues and recommend corrective measures to improve efficiency, consistency, and compliance
Coordinate and schedule contractors receiving soil mixes and oversee loading and delivery timelines
Plan and supervise short‑term and long‑term soil production schedules across multiple sites
Train and oversee heavy equipment operators to ensure quality control, safe work practices, and efficient production methods
Prepare and maintain production, testing, and compliance reports related to soil composition and site‑specific requirements
Skills Required If you possess the following skills, you will be a great fit:
Minimum 3 years of experience supervising or coordinating soil mixing or related construction production activities
Experience supervising heavy equipment operator crews in a construction or materials production environment
Knowledge of soil composition, standardized soil parameters, and site‑specific compliance requirements
Experience with soil sampling procedures and interpretation of laboratory test results
Ability to apply mathematical calculations to soil mix recipe development and adjustment
Experience scaling production processes from laboratory testing to heavy equipment operations
Strong organizational, scheduling, and reporting skills
Ability to train and supervise workers to maintain quality, efficiency, and safety standards
English oral and written communication skills
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
Wage and Benefits Wages are $40.00 per hour for 30 to 40 hours per week. Overtime hours will be banked and managed in accordance with a formal overtime agreement established with Park Landscaping. After a 3‑month probationary period, you will be entitled to group benefits including extended health and dental. After 1 year of employment, you will qualify for our RRSP contribution program.
