Job Summary We are looking for motivated Telecommunications Field Technicians to join our infrastructure and networking team. This role involves hands‑on field work in small‑scale construction, installation, and servicing of telecommunications systems across remote and industrial sites. Work independently or as part of a small team, solving technical and logistical challenges in all weather conditions.

This is a safety‑sensitive position requiring candidates to hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license, to complete a pre‑employment A&D test and a criminal background check.

This position is based out of Edmonton. Our technicians travel all over Canada, while also enjoying a healthy life‑to‑work balance.

Key Responsibilities

Install, test, and troubleshoot Cat5, Cat6, coax, and fiber cabling.

Perform small construction tasks including Unistrut installation, conduit routing (PVC and EMT), and low‑voltage wiring.

Console into and configure various networking and communications devices.

Install, service, and maintain telecommunications equipment in field environments.

Work from aerial lifts safely and efficiently.

Maintain organized work areas, proper labeling, and accurate documentation.

Drive and operate safely on radio‑controlled and remote access roads.

Apply strong problem‑solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

Stay current with IP networking concepts, device configuration, and basic programming.

Experience with VSAT and Starlink systems is an asset.

Adhere to all safety requirements including field assessments, toolbox meetings, and PPE compliance.

Must be willing to travel to various locations in and out of province, with overnight stay.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

2+ years of experience in telecommunications.

Skilled in low‑voltage DC systems and grounding practices.

Familiarity with Cisco networking and configuration is an asset.

Experience with construction tools, materials, and field wiring.

Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work in outdoor conditions.

Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel within and outside the province.

Certifications

Valid First Aid, Elevated Work Platform, High Angle Rescue, H2S Alive, or willingness to obtain.

Site‑specific safety training provided as required for work on designated sites.
