What a Typical Day Looks Like
Responsible for the day-to-day operation and leadership of the team
Ensure compliance to Company’s policies, practices and procedures related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and the Environment
Report health and safety incidents and complete appropriate incident/accident reports
Implement appropriate corrective actions in a timely manner in department with respect to health&safety and food safety requirements
Ensure the completion of required HACCP- and GMP-related forms
Prepare and distribute order plans and work closely with the Warehouse Manager to prioritize order plans and monitor their completion to facilitate timely and effective warehouse operations
Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries, and the sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing shipments, document, and report discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager
Ensure that all quality issues are addressed in a manner that meets Company expectations, reporting problems or discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager
Develop and demonstrate excellent communication practices and successful internal working professional relationships with staff and internal departments
Lead team members with a hands-on, people-focused approach in their development, coaching, communication, improvement, and team building while holding them accountable
Maintain high customer satisfaction levels through excellence in dispatching, identifying, receiving, and ensuring quality of products
Maintain records, utilize specialized KPI reports, and document relevant information to calculate warehouse performance
Develop and implement new methods, processes, and improvements
Consult and organize activities with other teams and departments
Control and organize storage and inventory space
Ensure the accuracy of inventory and shipments
Participate in physical inventory as determined by the Company
Ensure strong performance of team through coaching, training&development, and performance management activities
Work in collaboration with Human Resources to hire and onboard new Associates as required
Escalate employee relations concerns within a timely manner to Manager and Human Resources
Provide accurate and on time time&attendance reporting for all Associates within team and ensure adherence to Company policies, SOPs, etc. with respect to attendance, and pay practices
Forecast warehouse activity to ensure we have proper staff levels to meet current and future demands
Responsible for maintaining Material handling equipment and warehouse building
Perform other related duties as assigned
May provide back-up for other Warehouse Supervisors during their absences
What are we looking for?
Post-secondary education in related field such as Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or Project Management is considered an asset, but not a requirement
5+ years previous supervisory experience within a Warehouse environment
Demonstrated excellence in customer service and relationship building, while having a sense of urgency
Intermediate level MS Office skills, WMS and M3 (ERP System) skills&Microsoft Suite
Able to quickly learn technology application
Strong critical thinking ability with good problem identification and problem resolution skills
Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
Proven ability to influence, motivate and communicate effectively with team members
Reliable and dependable, with good time management, planning, prioritizing and execution skills, demonstrating attention to detail in all areas of work
Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously while working in a fast-paced environment
Proven track record of positive coaching, team building, training and development of direct reports, coupled with a hands-on leadership style
Ability to prioritize daily work volume and handle changes in priorities
Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
Strong work ethic and capability of working independently
Ability to pass a Drug&Alcohol and Fit-to-Work test up to 35 lbs
Ability to clear a Criminal Record Check and provide references
Working Conditions
Supervisors are expected to work a variety of shifts and be flexible in their availability
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
Job duties require physical exertion, including the ability to manually lift up to 35 pounds while using established safe lift procedures
Working 3rd shift from 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
