Company Profile Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries. We provide services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi‑discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.
Summary The Associate Purchasing Specialist is an entry‑level position responsible for assisting with the procurement of goods and services for our company.
Location Acheson Corporate Office
Hours of Work Full‑time; Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Responsibilities
Follow company standard policies and procedures/processes
Complete purchase order entries in the ERP system Viewpoint
Source vendors
Issue RFQs
Obtain quotes/current rate sheets from vendors
Negotiate cost savings/reduce vendor expenditures
Issue revised purchase orders as required
Expedite orders
Maintain consistent and accurate purchase entries within the ERP system and keep files updated on the company shared drive
Assist in project close out efforts as managed by the assigned purchasing lead
Maintain effective communication with operations and other functional departments
Review invoice discrepancies with accounts payable and ensure disputes are resolved in a timely manner; Escalate disputes if required to senior level staff
Various other duties as requested by management and senior Supply Chain team members
Qualifications/Skills
Business Diploma or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration
Minimum 1 year Supply Chain experience preferably in industrial construction projects and/or fabrication
MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Teamwork is crucial in frequent collaboration with various departments/end users
Effective Communication abilities both written and verbal
Ability to prioritize tasks/organized
Attention to Detail
Time management to meet deadlines
Multi‑task in fulfilling the procurement needs of multiple projects/business units simultaneously
