Service Writer (West Edmonton)

Golden Arrow Schoolbuses Ltd is currently seeking an experienced and dependable Service Writer for our Edmonton location. The Service Writer serves as the key liaison between drivers, mechanics, dispatch, and management. This position is responsible for coordinating vehicle maintenance and repair activities, preparing work orders, maintaining service records, and ensuring timely and efficient communication across the transportation department. Key Responsibilities: - Document vehicle issues and create detailed repair orders. - Schedule and prioritize service and repair work for the fleet in coordination with the maintenance team. - Track maintenance progress and ensure timely completion of repairs. - Review and close out work orders with accurate labor, parts, and cost details. - Maintain service logs, inspection records, and warranty information. - Communicate effectively with vendors for parts and service. - Send emails on behalf of shop Foreman. - Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure fleet compliance. - Assist in inventory management and ordering of parts and supplies. - Support the maintenance manager with reports, scheduling, and administrative tasks. Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED required. - Previous experience as a Service Writer, Maintenance Coordinator, or similar role (preferably in transportation, trucking, or fleet maintenance). - Knowledge of vehicle maintenance terminology, scheduling, and repair processes. - Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel). - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Job Type: Full time, Permanent Shift: Tuesday to Monday, 12 hour shifts, **please note shifts are subject to change based on operational needs.
