MCG Careers is currently seeking a part-time Director of Finance to join our Accounting Team in Edmonton. Who You Are: As a self-driven leader who inspires, your role is to ensure the company's overall financial health, operational efficiency, and compliance as it relates to the operation of contracts for both the Government of Alberta and Government of Canada. You have outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, are proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills, SAGE 50 Canadian Edition, possess excellent leadership and decision-making skills, and can effectively multitask and work efficiently under pressure. Skills and Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years of senior financial management experience - CPA designation is required - Bachelor’s degree in accounting or commerce - Full cycle accounting experience - Good working knowledge of SAGE 50 Canadian Edition - Proficient use and knowledge with database entry - Experience with government-funded programs is an asset - Advanced Excel skills - Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment - Excellent communication skills Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide leadership in the development of short and long-term strategic financial objectives to support the organization’s goals - Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team - Oversee the accounting department, ensuring quality control, accuracy, and meeting of deadlines - Ensure effective internal controls are in place to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal and provincial compliance for financial and tax reporting - Financial Analysis, including forecasting, budgets, and consolidation of reports - Risk Management, including risk mitigation, insurance, control systems, and legal issues No phone calls please.
