Description
The Edmonton Downtown Business Association is hiring a dynamic Communications Manager. The EDBA is a not-for-profit organization located in the Core of Downtown Edmonton and serves the members of its Association located within its boundaries. The role provides the communications functions that supports the Association’s broader mission of “creating a welcoming downtown workplace and helping downtown businesses succeed in the heart of Alberta's capital city.” It combines implementing communications strategies, advocacy support, signature events and campaign promotions, brand management, budget oversight and team management. Responsibilities - Developing and implanting focused communications plans; - Ensuring brand consistency and messaging; - Supporting advocacy efforts tied into Association priorities; - Creating Communication initiatives that are both creative and results-oriented; - Managing budgets; combining creative thinking with fiscal discipline; - Providing oversight to team members responsible for member engagement and marketing. Position Details - 1 full-time permanent position - Salaried position, range: $65,000 to $90,000 per annum, dependent on experience - 37.5 hours per week - Benefit package available - Occasional evenings and weekends during events and campaigns - Location: in office full-time Skills & Expertise - Completion of a degree in Communications or equivalent combination of diploma with a background in Communications and 5-10 years of related experience. - Experienced and successful in managing and overseeing a small team including planning, budget development and implementing strategic direction. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Well versed in social media of all kinds and have experience in leveraging it to lead or compliment various campaigns. - Experience with the small business community, working with major employers and/or retail marketing is an asset. - An understanding of Downtown’s history and challenges is an asset. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Very good working knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365 and MS Teams. - Working knowledge of Adobe Cloud Illustrator and Photoshop is desirable. - Knowledge/experience with website functionality and design is an asset. - Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, work within a small team. - Excellent multi-tasking skills. - Ability to function effectively within tight project deadlines. - Ability to leverage AI tools to maximize resources. #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2oy30l
