Payroll & Finance Specialist (15–18 Month Contract) Location: Edmonton, AB (On-site) Full Benefits + Vacation from Day 1 Robert Half is partnering with a well-established, member-driven organization to recruit a Payroll & Finance Specialist for a 15–18 month contract. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative finance team supporting both a provincial office and a large network of affiliated organizations. About the Organization Our client operates with a centralized finance function supporting 169 independent units, each with its own funding structure. The finance team includes 2 Finance Officers and 8 team members, with strong tenured leadership and a focus on internal growth. WKey Responsibilities Payroll (Approx. 70%) Process bi-weekly payroll (~100 staff) and weekly member payroll (50–800 individuals depending on cycle) Manage unionized payroll across 2 collective agreements Handle high-volume payroll inquiries from staff and members Calculate and maintain sick leave accruals Prepare T4s (~3,500 annually) and T2200 forms Process weekly staff expenses Review and manage timesheets submitted through DMS Accounting & Operations Support accounts payable (rent, expenses, disbursements) Administer monthly funding allocations Code and reconcile employee advantages Assist with year-end processes (January–December) Systems & Tools Microsoft Dynamics GP (transitioning to Business Central) Must-Haves PCP designation (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) Experience working in a unionized environment Strong experience with pension administration Proven ability to handle high-volume payroll processing What We’re Looking For Experience managing complex payroll structures Comfortable working with demanding stakeholders in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Experience supporting multi-entity or decentralized organizations is an asset Why Join Benefits and vacation starting Day 1 Competitive hourly rate Exposure to a large, complex payroll environment Stable, collaborative team environment Office closure over Christmas (extended holiday time) Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
