Integrated Project Delivery Coach/Project Manager Compensation Range: Stok's goal is to pay competitive wages and ensure that the utility of Stok team member's compensation is equitable, regardless of where they live. To accomplish this goal, Stok has defined Pay Markets based on the higher of either cost-of-living or cost-of-labor in markets where Stok has established offices or a high-concentration of team members. - Canada Market A (Vancouver, Calgary): $86,000-$143,000 CAD - Canada Market B (Edmonton): $80,000-$130,000 CAD Location: This role's preferred location is in western Canada (ideally Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton) or remote in Canada with ability to travel. Stok has a hybrid workforce across North America and globally. Although we have offices in San Francisco, San Diego, Denver and some co-working locations across the continent, we encourage team members to pursue a work from home, hybrid or in-person setup that works best for them. There are no mandated in-person working requirements. Job Description Stok leads organizations to decarbonize now. Stok is seeking an Integrated Project Delivery Coach/Project Manager to join our Project Delivery team. As a team member at Stok, you will support high-performing project teams by facilitating project startup workshops, charrettes, and collaborative design sessions, while guiding teams on IPD principles, tools, and project controls. We are looking for an experienced professional who combines strong project management with exceptional facilitation and communication skills to drive alignment, accountability, and performance. This role is responsible for overseeing project execution, including scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables, while proactively anticipating team and client needs and enabling effective collaboration. Ideal candidates bring experience in leading complex teams, fostering trust-based environments, and supporting teams to deliver high-impact outcomes through shared ownership and continuous improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES - Ensure the client is ready for an IPD team, educating them on the IPD process and the CCDC30 contract mechanisms, their role and the minimum pieces of information they must have decided upon before the IPD team joins for validation start such as: Values + Priorities, Allowable Cost + any grants to apply for, Schedule Constraints, Stakeholder communication plans, known risks, confirm what shared documentation, calendar and communication program will be used - Lead the client through the IPD procurement strategy and process execution - Lead the IPD team and client through the IPD process, sharing visual roadmaps, IPD tools, and how they work together to build a better method of project delivery. Coordinate other experts at the start of the project to aid in educating and aligning the team - Lead the co-creation effort to build project culture, then remind the team and repeat culture statements to bring them back to our shared commitments if / when they revert to old practices and ways of thinking. Champion the team health surveys and retrospectives - Lead the team through the last planner / pull planning processes, then identify champions within the team to carry forward the collaborative planning and accountability processes - Kick-start the Financial Project Implementation Team (PIT), educating the finance champions on IPD transparent budgets, continuous estimating and forecasting, and the accountability associated. Ensure there are champions set to lead the Financial PIT. Ensure the estimator (key role for IPD validation phase) is the right person for the task and can complete their work collaboratively - Kick-start the PIT to get Key Project Indicators (KPI)set for the project and then champion the development of a dashboard to track the KPI's (coordinate with other experts on our team with the skills to create + maintain dashboards) - Lead the co-creation of the onboarding process, provide examples from past projects and identify champions to energize the PIT and ongoing onboarding processes. - Play a leading role in ensuring the IPD team utilise the IPD tools and visual communication methods to ensure everyone stays informed, resourced, collaborative and focused on the project goals while providing value to the client - At first, co-hosting workshops and kickoff meetings to understand how Stok facilitates these conversations and meetings. Later, once comfortable and deemed ready, hosting and facilitating them on your own with the support of a project coordinator (PC) - Initiate, clearly communicate, and delegate tasks to the PC - Eventually, the PC will self-identify tasks, and review details of the task with you before executing - Book time into your calendar to execute tasks on time, coordinate projects details (including invoicing and project financials), nudge team members, and conduct internal project meetings - Execute tasks, in a timely manner, all the while "over-communicating" to the PC on status, progress, risks, mitigation solutions, and successes, and if applicable, what was not accomplished and when you anticipate completing the task - Mark tasks as complete when a task is complete and before the next team coordination meeting - Proactively, ahead of external meetings, coordinate with the PC to ensure they understand their role and responsibilities before a meeting and what you what support for you looks like - Demonstrate cross-training skills as new hires join Stok - Participate in Stok's internal IPD community of practice calls where we share lessons learned and best practices with our other IPD coaches QUALIFICATIONS - Demonstrated experience participating in all phases of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) projects, with exposure spanning planning, design, construction, and closeout (experience may be across multiple projects). - Proven ability to successfully deliver at least one full IPD project from initiation through completion. - Strong project management expertise, including financial oversight, schedule management, and a focus on maximizing value outcomes. - In-depth knowledge of IPD contract frameworks, including CCDC 30 and Hanson Bridget agreements, with the ability to serve as a subject matter resource for teams and clients new to IPD; familiarity with AIA and Alliance contracts is considered an asset. - Proficiency in Lean principles and practices, including decision-making tools, identification and elimination of waste, continuous improvement methodologies, and standardization techniques; capable of training and mentoring teams in Lean IPD practices. - Familiarity with IPDA guidance materials, including the Guide for Leadership, Overhead & Profit position papers, and Indigenous engagement guidance where applicable to client or stakeholder contexts. - Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and facilitate stakeholder engagement across diverse project participants. - Strong understanding of high-performing team dynamics, including the science, processes, tools, and ongoing efforts required to establish and sustain cooperative team environments. - Advanced interpersonal communication skills, with a foundation in emotional intelligence principles and best practices to foster trust, alignment, and effective collaboration.
