We are seeking an experienced Distribution Natural Gas Foreman to lead and oversee field crews performing construction on natural gas distribution systems. The successful candidate will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations, company standards, and safety policies. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in gas distribution systems, and the ability to coordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors in an active field environment. Key Responsibilities - Lead, supervise, and mentor natural gas distribution crews to ensure secure, efficient, and high- quality execution. - Plan and coordinate daily work activities, manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production targets and schedules. - Conduct daily safety meetings, hazard assessments, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. - Monitor the overall progress of the project and take corrective action where necessary. - Act as Aecon’s on‑site representative with project owners and clients. - Track, communicate, and manage scope changes with clients and Aecon management. - Foster and maintain a strong safety culture; ensure crew members are fit for work and follow all safe work practices. - Ensure all job site activities comply with applicable local legislation and regulatory requirements. - Establish and maintain work standards and behavioral expectations to promote crew morale and productivity. - Promote teamwork and collaboration across all construction crews, fostering a positive and respectful work environment. - Maintain required drawings, records, and daily logs. - Perform physical job requirements, including walking rough terrain, climbing ladders, and using stairs. - Work extended hours as required, including in challenging weather conditions. What You Bring To The Team - Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Foreman in Natural Gas Distribution. - Strong working knowledge of ATCO and Apex Utilities specifications. - Proven ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced field environment. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. - Availability to work weekends, night shifts, and overtime as required. - Willingness and availability to travel throughout Alberta for project assignments. - Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. - Compliance with Aecon’s Drug & Alcohol Program, including testing requirements.
