Job Description Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing Structural engineering support to the plant. Hours of Work: 10-hour days. Schedule: 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday). Location: Fort McMurray (with bus-in, bus-out from Fort Mc or fly-in, fly-out from Calgary/Edmonton). Specific Accountabilities & Responsibilities Develop and implement a structural inspection program for a brown field facility. Structures to be assessed include pipe racks, conveyors, slurry towers, overhead cranes, hoppers, etc. Inspection program to be cost effective, data driven and optimized to mitigate risks associated with running plant conditions. Regularly communicate with members of the various Business Unit Teams to determine what engineering support they require. Understand the status of various projects which may affect structural components in the different plants. Health, Safety & Setting Comply with all Health and Safety Requirements established by the company. Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards. Follow safe work procedures and ensure all personnel comply. Report any injury or illness immediately. Report unsafe acts and conditions. Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and is worn where and when required. This is a safety sensitive position. Skills & Qualifications Education, Training, Certifications Engineering Degree is required, preferably Civil/Structural. Registered as a qualified engineer in Alberta with APEGA. Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operational oil and gas facility with Qualified Engineer designation preferred. Previous experience working in an operational facility, with direct interaction with Operations and Maintenance Personnel is essential. Familiar with WCB and Alberta OH&S; Rules and Regulations. Competencies Excellent communication (written and verbal), documentation skills, leadership skills and a strong work ethic. Proven analytical and problem solving skills. Able to quickly facilitate issues to resolution in a large multi-discipline team. Highly motivated, self-managed and able to deliver on time.
