Summary
As the Plant Manager, you will lead the full operational performance of our manufacturing facility—ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and financial discipline are consistently achieved. This role plays a critical part in advancing Mattr's operational excellence by driving a strong safety culture, elevating product quality, developing high‐performing teams, and executing strategies that strengthen reliability and efficiency across the plant.
Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
- Champion a safety‐first culture where every team member goes home safe every day.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, company policies, and environmental regulations.
- Lead proactive safety initiatives including hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident prevention efforts.
- Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
- Engage employees in safety improvements and work toward zero injuries and zero process incidents.
Quality Excellence
- Ensure all products meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen quality management systems.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
- Embed a "quality at the source" mindset across the team.
- Monitor key quality indicators such as scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, develop, and retain a high‐performing workforce.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership development to supervisors and staff.
- Set clear expectations and drive accountability across all levels.
- Foster a culture of employee engagement, respect, and collaboration.
- Encourage continuous improvement and employee-led problem solving.
Operational Excellence & Productivity
- Maximize productivity through efficient use of people, equipment, and materials.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Monitor and enhance plant performance metrics such as OEE, throughput, and downtime.
- Ensure production schedules are met without compromising safety or quality.
- Drive waste reduction and efficiency improvements.
Financial Leadership
- Manage plant budgets, cost controls, and capital investment plans.
- Analyze production costs and identify opportunities to increase profitability.
- Oversee responsible management of labor, materials, maintenance, and energy.
- Develop business cases for capital improvements and operational enhancements.
- Align plant operations with overall company financial objectives.
Strategic Leadership
- Lead plant-level strategies that support company goals.
- Drive initiatives that improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams to support business growth.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Demonstrated leadership of safety‐focused operations.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement programs.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Strategic problem-solving and data‐driven decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to develop talent, lead teams, and drive operational performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership presence, and commitment to integrity.
