Interior Designer, Edmonton

Interior Designer, Edmonton
Description

Hays is partnered with a well-regarded interior design studio specializing in commercial, corporate, and workplace environments. The team works closely with clients to create thoughtful, high-performing spaces that enhance productivity, well-being, and collaboration, combining workplace strategy with strong design execution across sectors including corporate office, healthcare, retail, and multi-family. With their recent expansion into Edmonton, they're now looking to add an Intermediate or Senior Interior Designer to their close-knit, collaborative team.

You will take ownership of projects from the outset, acting as a Project Lead and guiding delivery through to completion. You will work directly with clients, manage timelines and project cadence, and take accountability for both design execution and project performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from concept through to completion, owning both design and delivery
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing communication and expectations
  • Develop and deliver design concepts, space planning, and interior finishes
  • Produce and review technical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings during construction
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and trades to ensure seamless delivery
  • Manage project schedules, workflow, and financial reporting
  • Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a growth-oriented team culture
  • Balance hands-on design work (models, drawing sets) with high-level project oversight

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in interior design (Intermediate or Senior level)
  • Strong experience leading projects through all phases, not just supporting components (e.g., finishes)
  • Background in corporate workplace, healthcare, or commercial interiors is required
  • Exposure to hospitality, retail, or multi-family residential is considered an asset
  • Registered Interior Designer (AAA) or NCIDQ certification is an asset but not required
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp; exposure to emerging tools (including AI) is beneficial

The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package of $70,000 - $90,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus potential, extended benefits and a flexible working environment.
