Our client, a well-established downtown Edmonton law firm, is seeking an experienced Paralegal – Unsecured Commercial Collections to join their busy and high-performing team.

Position Overview
This role is ideal for a highly motivated paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing a diverse workload. You will provide key support to lawyers and clients while handling a portfolio of unsecured commercial collections files.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of unsecured commercial collections files
• Communicate professionally with clients and debtors
• Draft pleadings and legal correspondence
• Conduct various searches and due diligence
• Register encumbrances at Land Titles and PPR
• Negotiate and administer payment plans
• Calculate account balances and process payments
• Prepare and issue weekly billings

Requirements

• Legal Assistant certificate/diploma or equivalent experience
• Litigation or collections experience
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and records management abilities
• Client service–oriented mindset
• Experience with ProLaw and/or Techcom is an asset
