Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and dependable Hotel Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations and ensure the property remains safe, functional, and maintained to high standards. This position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with hotel or hospitality experience and strong leadership abilities. The successful candidate will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate preventive maintenance, manage repairs, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for both guests and employees. Key Responsibilities Team Supervision & Maintenance Operations - Supervise, train, and support maintenance staff while assigning daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks. - Monitor work quality and ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently and in accordance with operational standards. - Coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize urgent repair requests to minimize operational disruptions. - Provide technical support and guidance to team members when troubleshooting maintenance issues. Preventive Maintenance - Oversee preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas, hotel facilities, and back-of-house operations. - Conduct routine inspections to identify repair needs and prevent equipment breakdowns. - Ensure maintenance systems, machinery, and hotel facilities remain fully operational and in excellent condition. - Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance schedules, and completed repairs. Repairs & Technical Support - Respond promptly to maintenance requests involving: - Electrical systems and lighting - Plumbing fixtures and water systems - HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) - Carpentry, painting, drywall, and furniture repairs - General building and facility maintenance - Diagnose technical issues and either complete repairs directly or coordinate with external specialists when required. Safety & Compliance - Ensure all maintenance procedures comply with workplace safety regulations, WCB standards, and property policies. - Conduct safety inspections to identify and resolve potential hazards. - Ensure proper handling and storage of maintenance equipment, tools, and materials. - Assist in maintaining fire safety systems, emergency procedures, and operational compliance. Vendor & Contractor Coordination - Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers for specialized maintenance projects and repairs. - Monitor vendor work to ensure quality standards, deadlines, and safety requirements are met. - Collaborate with hotel management to plan property improvements, upgrades, and maintenance projects. Property Upkeep & Guest Experience - Maintain the hotel property in excellent condition to support a positive guest experience. - Address guest-related maintenance concerns promptly and professionally. - Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and recommend cost-effective maintenance solutions. Requirements - Minimum 2+ years of maintenance experience , preferably within a hotel, hospitality, or commercial property setting. - Previous supervisory or leadership experience is considered an asset. - Solid knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance practices . - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills. - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple maintenance requests effectively. - Familiarity with workplace safety procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and WCB standards. - Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, or respond to emergency maintenance situations when required.
