McQueen Residence Summer General Maintenance Person Location: Easter Seals McQueen home 14407 McQueen Road Reports To: House Manager Hours: 40 per week Compensation: $15/hr Employment Type: Seasonal / Full-Time (summer) Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a General Maintenance Person. This seasonal position involves performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and grounds keeping tasks to ensure our facilities and property are clean, safe, and well-maintained throughout the summer months. Key Responsibilities: - Perform general maintenance and repair tasks on the interior and exterior of the building. - Assist with painting, light carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical work. - Maintain grounds by mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, watering plants, and removing debris. - Clean and maintain outdoor areas, walkways, and common spaces. - Inspect facilities for safety hazards or maintenance needs and report issues promptly. - Operate maintenance tools and equipment safely and responsibly. - Follow all safety procedures and organizational policies. Qualifications: - Must be 18-30 years old as per CSJ requirements. - Previous maintenance, custodial, or landscaping experience preferred but not required. - Ability to perform physical labor, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. - Basic understanding of hand and power tools. - Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team. - Valuable communication and problem-solving skills. - Able to work in Canada. Work Schedule: - Full-time typically 8am to 4pm Monday–Friday. - Seasonal position: June–August. This position is funded in part through the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program.
