As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Construction Accounting Coordinator / Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. About the Role The Construction Accounting Coordinator / Senior Bookkeeper will play a key role in supporting the financial and operational success of the organization. This position is responsible for a broad range of accounting and administrative functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, invoicing, job costing, reconciliations, and construction-related financial coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate financial tracking, timely reporting, and effective day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both accounting detail and operational coordination within a construction environment. Key Responsibilities - Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing - Process invoices, expense coding, payment tracking, and vendor documentation - Prepare client invoicing and assist with progress billing, holdback tracking, and project-related financial coordination - Support payroll processing and payroll-related administration - Assist with job costing, project cost tracking, and financial reporting support - Maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation - Utilize QuickBooks Online (QBO), Procore, Microsoft Office, and related systems to support accounting and operational processes - Support Project Managers and leadership with financial reporting and operational coordination - Assist with subcontractor documentation, and administrative tracking - Maintain organized digital filing systems and accurate record management practices - Support quarterly GST filings and related accounting administration - Assist with month-end and year-end preparation activities - Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting, reporting, and administrative processes Qualifications & Experience - Minimum 3–5 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or construction administration experience - Experience in the construction industry strongly preferred - Strong understanding of AP, AR, Canadian payroll, invoicing, reconciliations, and job costing - Familiarity with construction accounting processes including progress billing, holdbacks, and subcontractor coordination preferred - Experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO) required - Experience with Procore or construction management software considered a strong asset - Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - Strong initiative, organizational skills and excellent attention to detail are a must have - Professional communication and interpersonal skills - High level of discretion and confidentiality - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel - Bookkeeping, accounting, or related education at a diploma level or higher considered a strong asset Compensation & Benefits - Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications - Opportunity to grow alongside a rapidly expanding construction company - Collaborative and supportive team environment - Diverse and engaging work with exposure to operations and project coordination - Opportunity to contribute ideas and help improve systems and processes If you are a motivated accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative construction environment and wants to be part of a growing company, we would love to hear from you.
