Apprentice Carpenter || Commercial Construction Superior Buildings & Design is looking for motivated Apprentice Carpenters to join our growing construction team. We are a design-build general contracting company based in Edmonton Alberta, specializing in commercial, industrial, pre-engineered metal building projects. We are looking for reliable, hard-working individuals who want to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in construction. Position Overview As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will work alongside experienced carpenters, supervisors, project managers, and tradespeople on a variety of commercial and industrial construction projects. This position offers a full-circle construction experience. As part of a design-build general contractor, employees have the opportunity to be involved in many stages of a project, from early site work and foundations through to framing, building envelope, interior construction, finishing, door hardware, and final completion. Our team helps bring commercial and industrial buildings from paper to operation. This means you will gain hands-on experience not only with individual construction tasks, but also with how an entire building comes together from start to finish. As one part of the role, employees may also work alongside metal building erectors during the assembly of building structures and envelope systems. This may include exposure to standing seam roofs, insulated metal panels, architectural panels, cladding, trims, flashings, and related building components. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who takes pride in their work, is willing to learn, and wants to develop a broad understanding of commercial and industrial construction. Responsibilities - Assist carpenters, site supervisors, and other team members with daily construction tasks - Perform general carpentry duties including framing, forming, backing, blocking, finishing, and installation work - Assist with foundations, concrete work, exterior finishes, interior construction, door hardware, and other project scopes as required - Help with layout, measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing construction materials - Read and follow instructions, drawings, and site direction - Safely operate hand tools and power tools - Load, unload, and move materials as required - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site - Follow company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements - Work as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and professionally - Occasionally assist with metal building structure and envelope work, including roofing, cladding, insulated metal panels, architectural panels, trims, and flashings Qualifications - Registered apprentice carpenter preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate - Previous construction experience is an asset - Strong work ethic and willingness to learn - Interest in commercial and industrial construction - Ability to work in a physically demanding environment - Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions - Reliable transportation to and from job sites - Ability to follow instructions and work well with others - Safety-conscious attitude - Valid driver’s licence is an asset - Experience with metal buildings, roofing, cladding, or building envelope systems is an asset, but not required What We Offer - Competitive wages based on experience and apprenticeship level - Full-time employment - Opportunity to work on commercial and industrial projects - Hands-on experience across all stages of construction - Exposure to how design-build projects move from drawings to completed, operational buildings - Broad experience with foundations, carpentry, structure, envelope, interiors, finishing, and closeout - Supportive team workplace - Opportunities for growth and advancement - Hands-on training with experienced tradespeople - A company that values integrity, efficiency, and accountability Schedule - Full-time - Monday to Friday - Overtime may be available depending on project requirements Work Location - On Site Locations - Current Jobs in Edmonton Area. - Superior Buildings will service commercial and industrial job sites in Alberta Pay: $20.00-$32.00 per hour Benefits: - Dental care - Disability insurance - Extended health care - On-site parking - Vision care Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pd4hb
