Labourer - Highways Maintenance (Seasonal) (Edmonton)

Carmacks is currently seeking Maintenance Crew Labourers for our Maintenance Division based out of Edmonton, AB. This is a seasonal position with a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation, primarily day shifts, with occasional night shifts as required. Shifts are 12 hours, with possible overtime. The primary assignment for this role will be supporting the Terwillegar Phase 3 Project, with additional duties assisting the maintenance crew as required. What is the role? As a Laborer, you play a key role in supporting highway construction and maintenance operations. Your hands-on contributions help keep roadways safe, functional, and well maintained. - Assist primarily with work related to the Terwillegar Phase 3 Project - Support highway maintenance activities as required - Weed whacking around culverts, light poles, signs, and guardrails to assist grass mowing operations - Debris pickup and general cleanup - Minor surface repairs and line painting - Maintenance of signs, cable barriers, and guardrails - Traffic accommodation and control - Patrol roadways and Right of Way (ROW) to identify required maintenance - Identify and report hazards - Communicate regularly with the Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor - Complete required documentation accurately and on time - Interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner - Work collaboratively with the CMSL team to meet contractual standards, timelines, and cost targets - Participate in training and contribute to CMSL Quality and Environmental Management Systems - Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude What We Value - Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract - Physically capable of performing manual labour - Highway construction or maintenance experience is an asset - Strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) - Professional, calm, and courteous demeanor - Open to feedback and willing to implement suggestions - Accountability for assigned responsibilities - Reliable transportation to and from work What's in it for you? - Competitive compensation package - Dental care - Extended health care - Annual boot allowance - Matching RRSP - Employee stock purchase plan - Employee assistance program - Maternity top-up program - Second parent leave program - Free In office parking - Growth Opportunities - Company events Carmacks is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
