Senior Database Engineer - AWS Focus, Edmonton

In this key role at our company, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, you will ensure the stability and scalability of our database systems. Your deep understanding of database internals and query analysis will guide the optimization efforts for cache, indexes, and IOPS, contributing to a more efficient engineering process.

Key Responsibilities:• Ensure stability and scalability of Aurora Postgres databases • Identify and resolve cache and query performance issues • Implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems • Work with development teams on schema design and optimization • Analyze costs and optimize AWS database usage

Requirements:• 5–10 years of database administration experience • Deep knowledge of Postgres internals and tools • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Ruby • Experience with AWS technologies, especially Aurora • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
