Job Summary
Principal duties involve the maintenance and repair, reconstruction, and rebuilding of tank and freight cars, including cutting and welding on the metal jacket and other car components, truck assembly, gauging and replacement of wear parts, reading and following repair orders, and adhering to health and safety standards including Responsible Care.Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts into sub‑assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Conduct more complex production tasks such as operating multiple machines. Perform minor machine maintenance and assist in setting up machines. Work at different workstations as production needs require.May train less experienced coworkers. Maintain and repair/rebuild tank and freight cars, including cutting and welding tasks. Assist in the assembly of trucks and replace wear components. Read, comprehend, and follow repair orders and procedures. Adhere to health and safety standards, including Responsible Care policy.Perform additional related duties as assigned. Schedule&Compensation
Schedule options: Monday to Friday 4:00p.m. to 12:30a.m. (shift differential $1.40) or Sunday to Thursday 11:30p.m. to 8:00a.m. (shift differential $1.75). The starting hourly rate is $43.94, progressing to $47.29. Requirements
Legally entitled to work in Canada. Journeyman welding certificate. 3–5 years of welding experience. Pass tests in 4‑position SMAW, CST, and 4‑position Flux‑Core (FCAW) with stainless steel. Understand welding and cutting equipment to adjust procedures and inspect for safe operation. Competent and safe use of shop tools and equipment: electric, pneumatic,hydraulic tools, cranes, shears, and hand tools.Railcar repair experience is an asset. WHMIS training. Detail‑oriented and committed to quality. Work well independently and as part of a team. Effective communication and organization skills. Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, around machinery, and in noisy or fume‑filled conditions.Perform tasks that require moderate to heavy physical exertion. Complete tasks with a sense of urgency while ensuring safe and accurate results. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Adhere to Procor’s health and safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment.Undergo a background check and complete medical testing as required. Benefits
