Summary of Responsibilities: Work under the supervision of a Project Manager and/or Land Surveyor. Lead a crew in surveying tasks across all sectors/divisions within Midwest. Perform predominantly oil&gas surveying, including:

Lead a crew performing oilfield, pipeline construction, and integrity surveys. Complete survey calculations. Communicate with clients, field representatives and site supervisors. Serve in a client‑facing role, interacting with Midwest clients, landowners and/or members of the public. Collaborate with Project Managers, Land Surveyors, and other Crew Chiefs to ensure quality client service.Travel as required by work assignments (field‑based position); lodging costs covered by Midwest and subsistence expenses reimbursed. Adapt to varying work assignment lengths based on client requirements, job complexity and/or job location. Work overtime as needed.

What You Offer (Qualifications)

A valid driver’s license, free of major convictions as defined in jurisdictional traffic safety regulations. A diploma or degree in Geomatics from a recognized post‑secondary institution, or equivalent experience (5+ years in the survey industry in a related position). Ability to comply with Drug&Alcohol testing requirements as stipulated by client requirements and jurisdictional health and safety regulations. Experience and proficiency with basic Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience and proficiency with the operation of all types of survey equipment (RTK GNSS, Total Stations, Levels, Laser Scanners).Familiarity with all elements of the practice of surveying in the jurisdiction of application. As an asset, demonstrated proficiency with line locating. As an asset, but not required, a NavCanada RPAS Basic or Advanced UAV/Drone license. Key Competencies&Behavioral Attributes

Work in various outdoor and all‑terrain, all‑weather environments typical to Western Canada. Physical exertion may be required daily, including walking on uneven ground up to several kilometers, lifting equipment and supplies between 20–35 kg (50–80 lbs) and carrying equipment up to 20 kg (50 lbs).Operate OHVs in all weather conditions. Utilize hand tools such as hammers, sledgehammers and jackhammers to install survey monumentation and markings. Field‑based survey positions require availability to travel as required by work assignment; Midwest will cover lodging costs and reimburse subsistence expenses.Other Information
