Senior Project Manager, SPO Concrete The Senior Project Manager, Self-Perform Operations (SPO) Concrete will be responsible to lead, manage, and coordinate all phases of self performed concrete projects from preconstruction through to closeout. They must have the highest ethical standards and proven leadership skills/capabilities to lead and develop people and projects. Reporting to: Self-Perform Operations Manager. Duties & Responsibilities - Supporting business development activities by maintaining long lasting relationships with clients, the design community, engineers, and other organizations which enhance future self performed concrete opportunities. - Working with the Estimating and Project Development teams to secure self performed concrete work. - Overseeing the preconstruction phase and providing leadership to project teams, ensuring execution on the construction and turnover of self performed concrete work. - Developing and/or promoting and advancing the latest industry technologies, systems, processes, and innovations to ensure Clark Builders maintains its position as an industry leader in construction. - Building diverse, high performing teams, through coaching, training and development opportunities and creating opportunities for new and challenging experiences. - Leading and working with project teams to develop project specific safety and quality plans, set profit and productivity goals, evaluate and select formwork systems, complete the material, subcontractor, and equipment procurement, assemble the appropriate field crew and field supervision team, and work with senior operations leaders to hold project teams accountable for meeting the minimum productivity, profit, safety, quality, and schedule goals. - Promoting, living, and instilling Clark Builders Core Values: Can-Do Attitude, Respect Others, Succeed as a Team, Lead with Courage, Deliver Results. - Success will be measured on: Client satisfaction, Financial performance, Safety performance, Quality performance, Creating positive and engaging development opportunities, mentoring and assisting staff in the advancement of their careers. - Successfully leading operational improvement initiatives related to self performed concrete. - Developing standards and maintaining records for all self performed concrete: start-up and closeout documentation, productivity data collection, information sharing. - Performance management of staff and direct reports; set personal and team goals/strategies in alignment with annual Key Result Areas (KRAs). - Liaising with Turner Construction’s Self-Perform Concrete peer group across North America on a monthly basis. Skills & Knowledge - Proven ability to manage complex, multi-storey, institutional and commercial self-perform concrete projects with a variety of formwork systems. - Proven leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivating. - Demonstrated ability to manage key relationships, including clients, business partners, government agencies, and subtrades. - Ability to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal and external challenges or obstacles. - Sound understanding of risk management related to self performed concrete work. - Knowledge of Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures. - Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. - High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. - Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. - A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills. - Outstanding listening and communication skills are essential. - Questioning conventional approaches, exploring alternatives and providing innovative solutions. Qualifications - A post-secondary degree or diploma in construction or engineering. - Minimum of 15 years in construction with at least 10 years managing progressively larger and more complex self performed concrete projects. - Estimating experience in self performed concrete. - In office Project Coordination, or Project Management experience. - Previous experience working on a remote or logistically challenging project. - Experience with Last Planner System an asset. - Experience with Procore Construction Management Software an asset. - Ability to travel on a regular basis throughout Alberta, BC and NWT.
