Postdoctoral researcher opportunity in biomolecular condensates and protein misfolding Departments of Biochemistry and Physics, University of Alberta Location: Edmonton, Canada Position Description Drs Mok and Woodside at the University of Alberta are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to lead a project investigating the structural dynamics of TDP-43 in biomolecular condensates and how these processes are modified by interactions with molecular chaperones. This project is interdisciplinary and the candidate will be jointly supervised by Drs Mok and Woodside. The researcher will gain advanced expertise in experimental techniques such as high-throughput protein purification, mass photometry, and optical tweezers.Duration of appointment: Initial 1-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal for up to 3 years Benefits: The University of Alberta offers a comprehensive benefits package. Mentor and assist in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory. Contribute to the drafting and development of new grant proposals QualificationsPhD training in the disciplines of Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biophysics, Physics or related fields is preferred. Research experience in the areas of protein folding/misfolding or liquid-liquid phase separation is considered an asset. A strong record of peer-reviewed publications as listed in the CVExcellent written and verbal communication skills Experience participating in or facilitating research collaborations e.g. co-authorship on multi-team publications
