HSE Student (Edmonton)

Responsibilities Assisting HSE Professionals with inspections and incidental investigations Managing documents (i.e. data entry, SMC entries, taking minutes, filing, etc.) Development of training materials and other documents Reviewing paperwork (i.e. PTSP, tailgate meetings, safework procedures, trend analysis) Monitoring and maintain the environmental program Recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements Analyzing site-specific trends and incidents and report findings to district Gathering, reviewing, and distributing safety-related statistical information Interpreting, communicating, and reinforcing project safety standards to project team Qualifications What you will bring to the role: Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate program. Preference will be given to those in a Statistics, Occupational Health and Safety, and/or Psychology program. Knowledge of various computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards. Robust willingness to learn. Working Conditions: Successful applicants must be able to provide their own CSA approved steel toed boots and be willing to take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test. Shift rotation and overtime may be applicable. Our project site is not accessible by public transportation so the successful applicant for that location will need access to a vehicle.
