Join Imperial as an Experienced Geotechnical Field Engineer in Edmonton, Alberta. This role involves assessing mine structures and ensuring operational safety on a 14-day fly-in, fly-out schedule.

As a Geotechnical Field Engineer at Imperial, you will play a crucial role both at the Kearl Mine Site and with Calgary-based teams. Your focus will be on understanding geotechnical requirements and monitoring both in-pit and out-of-pit structures for protected operations in mining. Your expertise in geotechnical engineering is vital for addressing field concerns and providing technical guidance in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities: • Review designs to ensure compliance with specifications • Serve as the point of contact for geotechnical issues • Conduct inspections for critical construction activities • Provide pit wall stability guidance to shovel planners • Prepare Technical Decision Reports as needed

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or related Engineering • P.Eng. designation or eligibility with APEGA • 5+ years in geotechnical engineering experience • Field experience in Oil Sands operations preferred • Strong analytical and communication skills
