We're looking for a passionate and experienced Pastry Associate to join our team and help us share that tradition with our community. What are we looking for? - As a Pastry Associate, you are the curator of our pastry display and an expert on our offerings. You will be responsible for the artistic plating and merchandising of all pastry items, ensuring every guest is greeted by a visually stunning and fully stocked case. Responsibilities: - Arrange pastry displays every morning and throughout the shift to ensure a "bountiful" and appetizing look. - Regularly clean display glass, wipe down shelves, and organize labels to maintain a 5-star visual standard. - Apply final touches to products (such as powdered sugar, fresh fruit, or glazes) immediately before they are placed in the case. - Ensure every item has a correct and legible price tag, including clear markers for allergens like nuts, dairy, or gluten. - Act as the "eyes" of the pastry case, notifying the bakery team when specific items are running low. - Monitor digital platforms for pastry orders and coordinate with the team to ensure they are packed correctly for pickup. - Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all food safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination. - Describe flavor profiles, textures, and ingredients to guests to help them find the perfect treat. - Handle pastries with care using proper tools (tongs/tissue) to box or plate items beautifully for the guest. - Confidently answer questions regarding ingredients to ensure guest safety and satisfaction. - Monitor the "shelf life" of items on display, removing any products that no longer meet our freshness or appearance standards. Qualifications: - Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment. - Knowledge of products and services offered by the store may be beneficial but not always required. - Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food production Skills: - Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with customers and team members in a friendly and professional manner. - Strong attention to detail and precision. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Strong organizational and time management skills.
