ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION – JUNIOR TO INTERMEDIATE Position: Contract Hourly, Remote Company Description Matchline Engineering Inc. is an Alberta-based, multi-discipline engineering firm dedicated to supporting the province’s heavy industries. Role Description: Matchline Engineering is looking for a Junior to Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Edmonton Industrial Engineering group. This is a contract hourly remote position with a preference for candidates within Edmonton and the surrounding area. The individual will be part of a team supporting our oil, gas, mining and manufacturing clients and the position may require occasional visits to sites. The position will be contract hourly to start, but there may be near future opportunity for a full-time permanent position. Requirements and Responsibilities: - EIT or Skilled Engineer (P. Eng.) Registered with APEGA. - 3-5+ years of Industrial Electrical Engineering experience in a consulting engineering environment. - Develop electrical related design drawings, specifications, schedules, datasheets, reports, and work packages. - Review and apply industry and client standards and procedures to project designs and deliverables. - Coordinate Cross-discipline with a project team of engineers and designers. - Work with document control to request new drawing revisions and equipment tags. - Conduct site visits to gather data, take measurements and photos for initial inspections and drawing as-builts. - Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) Skills and Experience: - Experience with Low and Medium Voltage Power Distribution Design and equipment specification for Industrial Facilities - Experience with Process Electrical Heat Trace Design. - Experience with Electrical design software including ETAP, CompuTrace or equivalents. - Experience with AutoCAD and ability to draft basic 2D electrical drawings and schedules is considered an Asset. - Experience with Lighting Design and software such as AGI32 is considered an asset. - Design experience with Controls, Fire Alarm, Automation, or Instrumentation is considered an Asset. - Must possess excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills. - Ability to work in a team environment. - Ability to work independently and remotely using MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint and other digital collaboration tools.
