Heavy Equipment Operator (Edmonton)

JOB SUMMARY: The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for competently operating at least one of the following pieces of equipment: skid steer, loader, excavator, or rubber tire backhoe. While they are not required to operate all types, familiarity with multiple is an asset. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ability to work 5 - 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday), 8 - 10 hours a day. - Operate the equipment as required such as skid steer, loader, rubber tire backhoe and excavator. - Dig, backfill, and sand trenches with heavy equipment. - Perform preventative maintenance procedures on equipment. - Adapt to change in a fast-paced environment. - Team Player - Perform labour tasks as needed. - Site setup and cleanup. - Adapt to changing priorities. - Perform all work in accordance with applicable Task Hazard Assessments (THAs), protected work practices, and Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs). - Identify hazards and participate in hazard assessments and control implementation. - Perform assigned tasks as identified in formal hazard assessments.
