Guest Service Agent (Seasonal Part Time until October 1, 2026) Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, located above the river valley in Edmonton, has delivered luxury hospitality since 1915. We are looking for a Guest Service Agent who will take care of guests from arrival to departure, ensuring a memorable experience.
Responsibilities Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the essential job functions include:
Provide effective and fast service in a friendly manner.
Check in and check out hotel guests according to standards and policies.
Answer incoming calls.
Monitor for special rates and billing arrangements.
Address concerns promptly to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.
Prepare for VIP and all loyalty members arrivals to ensure a flawless experience.
Coordinate storage, delivery, and distribution of guest mail, messages and packages.
Maintain a clean, organized and sanitized front desk in accordance with safe policies.
Ensure the front desk is stocked with essential materials.
Maintain a professional, neat and well‑groomed appearance, adhering to hotel grooming standards.
Communicate guest comments to the Assistant Front Office Manager or Manager on Duty.
Be familiar with fire and emergency procedures.
Perform other front‑office responsibilities as required.
Physical Aspects of Position
Constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
Experience and Skills
Previous front desk or reception experience is a strong asset.
Effective communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP is an asset.
Knowledge of Micros PMS or Opera is an asset.
Good command of the English language.
Hotel or hospitality degree or diploma is an asset.
Availability for shift work including weekends and holidays.
Can work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non‑day shifts.
