Hybrid Technology Management Officer Position, Edmonton

Become a pivotal Technology Management Officer at the University of Alberta, working in a hybrid model. Oversee commercialization activities that foster innovation and economic development in the Greater Edmonton Region.

Reporting directly to the Director of Technology Transfer, this role is crucial for managing technology transfer and developing IP strategies. You will negotiate key legal agreements and stay updated on the commercialization landscape to facilitate the movement of inventions from academia to the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:• Manage technology transfer initiatives from the University and PSIs • Create and implement effective intellectual property strategies • Negotiate and draft necessary legal agreements • Stay informed about industry trends and commercialization opportunities • Contribute to economic benefit through technology innovations

Requirements:• Background in technology transfer or innovation management • Proven skills in negotiation and IP management • Understanding of the local commercialization environment • Willingness to work hybrid, at least 3 days weekly • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
