Cake Decorator/baker Etobicoke

Overview We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. This role involves creating visually stunning and delicious cakes that meet our high standards for quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, food artistry, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced food industry environment. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus, along with a strong understanding of food safety and handling procedures. Duties Decorate cakes according to customer specifications, including piping, fondant work, and intricate designs Prepare cake fillings, frostings, and other related food items following established recipes and safety standards Assist in baking and food preparation tasks as needed to ensure timely production of baked goods Package finished cakes securely for delivery or pickup, maintaining presentation quality Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and kitchen area Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations Interact with customers to understand their decorating requests and provide excellent customer service Follow proper food safety protocols during all stages of cake decoration and preparation Requirements Proven experience in cake decorating; proficiency with various decorating techniques is essential Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred, especially within the food industry or bakery setting Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation procedures Skills in baking, food preparation, and basic cooking techniques Solid customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail Experience with packaging baked goods for delivery or retail sale is desirable Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with precision Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is preferred Job Type: Freelance Pay: $17.20-$22.06 per hour Benefits: Casual dress Flexible schedule In office parking Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2nm24j
