Become a key player as an Advisor for Indigenous reconciliation with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Fort McMurray. Engage with communities and support vital environmental initiatives. This full time, permanent position focuses on supporting the development of reconciliation programs and adherence to the Calls to Action outlined by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. You will work collaboratively to integrate Indigenous perspectives into various municipal projects while enhancing cultural awareness and inclusivity throughout the region. Key Responsibilities: - Lead departmental advice using the TRC report - Advance Source Water Protection initiatives - Coordinate with Indigenous communities for outreach and engagement - Manage social media and communication strategies - Support crisis management and policy development efforts Requirements: - Five years of relevant experience in Indigenous relations - Knowledge of UNDRIP and reconciliation practices - Strong leadership and facilitation skills - Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities - Requires a valid Class Five Operator's License Bring your expertise in Indigenous engagement and environmental stewardship to enhance reconciliation efforts in the Municipality.
