This job provides the opportunity to go home every night. Responsibilities Adhere to a given WPS. Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications Understand the importance of Consumable Storage and Maintenance Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects Repair parts of metal products by welding on extra layers Maintain safe work practices Follow a Step-by-Step Repair Plan Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques Secure components together applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed Qualifications B-Pressure Welder with pipefitting experience Need to have tig and carbon stick welding as well as CWB carbon and SS tickets. Ability to identify all techniques of welding (GTAW, GMAW, etc.), and know all properties of various types of metal and how heat affects them Ability to identify the requirements for various welding tests (6g, X-ray, etc.) and to produce welds that meet each requirement Maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes Maintain and repair pressurized piping systems Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience Ability to work collaboratively Superior written and verbal communication skills Superior focus on customer satisfaction Valid drivers license CSTS 2020 Fall Protection ESC Confined Space Valid drivers licence Experience in Industrial operating setting Experience in maintenance processes an asset Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing Working Conditions Working at heights Working in a confined space Working in and around noise and dust Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions Must be clean shaven Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots Physical Requirements Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance Stand or walk for long periods of time Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects Who We Are Stuart Olson has been positively impacting the businesses we serve, the communities in which we operate, and the lives we touch since 1911.
