Description
Aspen View Public Schools, with a division office located in the town of Athabasca, is a rural school division providing diverse and innovative programming to students in a number of communities. The division is unique in that it is surrounded by a multitude of lakes, golf courses and trails that appeal to an active, outdoor lifestyle while still being in close proximity to larger urban centers. Edwin Parr Composite School, located in the community of Athabasca, serves approximately 700 students in Grades 7–12. As the largest school in Aspen View Public Schools, EPC offers a broad range of learning opportunities within a modern facility opened in 2018. Students have access to a full complement of academic programming, as well as Career and Technology Studies courses including welding, mechanics, woodworking, and cosmetology. The school also offers strong fine arts options such as music, visual arts and drama. In addition, EPC provides a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, including athletics and other student activities. Edwin Parr Composite School is recruiting to a full time temporary junior high English Language Arts and Social Studies, with additional responsibility for providing literacy support to students who require targeted intervention. The teaching assignment may also include a junior high option course such as Drama. The successful candidate will be passionate about building strong relationships, supporting diverse learners, and creating engaging learning experiences that foster student success.
