Position Summary The Nutrition Services Department is currently seeking a Permanent Part-Time Food Service Assistant to join their team. Effective Date: April 20, 2026 Department/Unit/Program Description The department of Nutrition Services recognizes the patients we service as our primary client. We direct our department resources toward their care by providing high quality, protected, nutritious food along with high standards of nutritional care by qualified nutritional staff. The principle function which allows the department to meet our purpose is through patient satisfaction by offering a variety of quality food and excellent service to our patients. We produce food under safe, sanitary conditions and foster a multidisciplinary approach with all departments in the best interest of patient care. Essential Qualifications - Grade 12 or equivalent - Current Food Handlers Training & Certification and must maintain certification - Ability to operate cash register, count money and make change accurately - Pleasant manner and communication with all levels of staff and the public - Assist with each phase of the dishwashing procedure - Responsible for safe and sanitary handling of food, supplies and equipment - Work on patient meal prep (Bpod) - Performs patient meal tray delivery - Performs pot washing, equipment and departmental cleaning and sanitary procedures - Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis, including be able to stand for long periods of time and lift moderate weight; push/pull lowerators and cart Hours of Work Must be available to work eight (8) and four (4) hour shifts (days/evenings), including weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays, Monday to Sunday.
