Additional Working Conditions
Ability to travel to Saint John and the Moncton site on occasion; this may include using provided transportation by UNB to move equipment.
Ability to work extended hours during high volume periods and for events coverage.
Your Focus Reporting to the Manager, Media Production, the Media Design Coordinator produces high-level, strategic, multimedia initiatives for all university clients for all campuses. This position plays a leading role in the design and production of comprehensive media projects within the Unit and functions as the technical and creative expert for photography, motion graphics and graphic design, and contributes as/when to video projects.
Manage project budgets, liabilities, and adherence to specifications, including overtime, resource requirements, travel, talent, expenses, and copyright.
Align project design with UNB's visual presence and history; guide media specialists on content creation requirements.
Secure digital assets using high-volume data servers; maintain inventory and archive all multimedia projects for the university.
Ensure compliance with legal agreements related to copyright, logos, licensing, and model releases to limit institutional liability.
Generate statistics and reports to support TTL reporting requirements for budgets and resources.
Recruit and train contract content specialists, including student employees and interns; contribute to performance reviews and supervise project work.
Manage media content providers, schedules, project budgets, performance, and adherence to procedural and technical specifications; oversee quality control and client communications.
Lead, coach, and motivate staff to achieve results within a complex and dynamic environment.
Provide technical and creative support for photography, video, and motion graphics projects, including graphic design components.
Assess client needs from visual and technical perspectives; produce professional-quality photographic assets for events, promotions, and studio portraits.
Capture images in studio and on location, including live event environments with tight timelines and high pressure.
Apply social media knowledge to meet technical requirements and support content development; monitor trends and evolving platforms.
Explore and apply AI tools to support digital media production.
Collaborate with clients and the Media Services and Production team to define project scope, timelines, and estimates.
Provide technical and creative expertise for video, multimedia, and photography projects in collaboration with external partners and clients.
Oversee photography, editing, and the direction and development of photo and motion graphics production.
Support faculty, staff, and students as a technical resource for current photography, motion graphics, multimedia tools, hardware, software, and AI applications aligned with curriculum goals.
Complete additional duties as required.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, Media Arts and Culture or related field.
Minimum 5 years professional experience in photography using professional equipment, multimedia equipment, motion graphics and photography/graphic design software, media design hardware, and associate products.
Proficiency with a wide range of Photo/graphic productions.
Additional Strengths
Ability to communicate technical information clearly.
High level of responsibility, accountability and autonomy.
Experience with videography is an asset.
