Floral Designer & Customer Service Representative (Grimsby)

Job Overview: The Floral Designer & Customer Service Representative is responsible for creating beautiful and unique floral arrangements while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a combination of artistic skills, floral design knowledge, and strong communication abilities to assist customers in selecting the perfect flowers for their needs, whether for events, gifts, or home decor. The individual will also provide excellent customer support, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term client relationships.Key Responsibilities: Floral Design: - Create custom floral arrangements for a variety of occasions, such as weddings, holidays, birthdays, and corporate events. - Design and assemble bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, wreaths, and other floral displays. - Select and arrange flowers, foliage, and accessories according to client preferences and seasonal availability. - Maintain a visually appealing display of flowers and arrangements within the store. Customer Service: - Greet customers warmly, listen to their needs and provide knowledgeable recommendations for floral arrangements. - Assist customers in selecting flowers and products based on their preferences, event requirements, and budget. - Ensure that customers are satisfied with their purchases, offering guidance on floral care and maintenance. - Resolve any customer concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner to ensure a positive experience. Order Management and Consultation: - Take customer orders for floral arrangements over the phone, online, or in person. - Coordinate and confirm orders, ensuring that all details, such as delivery dates and special requests, are accurately recorded. - Communicate effectively with clients to understand their vision, whether for individual orders or larger events, and offer design suggestions. Floral Care and Maintenance: - Ensure flowers and plants are fresh, hydrated, and stored appropriately to prolong their lifespan. - Prepare flowers for arrangements, trimming, and conditioning them as needed. - Keep the flower inventory well-stocked and manage the quality and freshness of products. Sales and Upselling: - Promote additional products and services, such as vases, gifts, and delivery options, to increase sales and enhance the customer experience. - Maintain product knowledge and stay up to date on floral trends to recommend new and seasonal items to clients. Event Planning Support (if applicable): - Assist with the preparation, delivery, and setup of floral arrangements for weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions. Shop Maintenance: - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including arranging and cleaning the design area. - Help with inventory management, ordering flowers, and keeping track of supplies. - Ensure the shop is visually appealing, with well-organized displays and an inviting atmosphere. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Proven experience in floral design, with a strong understanding of design principles and floral care. - Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to engage with customers, address concerns, and offer helpful suggestions. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak seasons. - Creative and artistic with a keen eye for detail and colour coordination. - Basic knowledge of sales and upselling techniques. - Ability to lift and move heavy floral arrangements, stand for extended periods, and work with a variety of flowers and plants. - Basic knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, and inventory management. Preferred Qualifications: - Certification or formal training in floral design (e.g., from a floral design school or association). - Experience in a customer-facing role in a retail or service setting.
