Description
Position Title: Procurement Coordinator Department: Operations Reports To: Director, Operations Job Type: Contract Position (7–8 Months) Location: Grimsby, ON Position Summary The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing procurement activities to support organizational operations efficiently and cost-effectively. This role ensures the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and applicable regulations. The Procurement Coordinator works closely with internal departments and external vendors to support operational requirements and maintain strong supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities - Coordinate the procurement process for goods, services, and contracts. - Prepare and manage purchase orders, invoices, and procurement documentation. - Support competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, and contract administration processes. - Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. - Maintain vendor contracts and service agreements. - Conduct market research and analyze pricing, trends, and supplier performance. - Collaborate with internal departments to identify purchasing requirements and recommend procurement solutions. - Monitor procurement records and maintain accurate documentation. - Support vendor communication and maintain qualified business relationships. - Assist with operational and administrative duties as required. Qualifications & Experience - Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. - Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations. - Strong understanding of procurement procedures, contract administration, and vendor management. - Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. - Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications - Supply Chain Management or Purchasing certification is considered an asset. - Experience negotiating supplier agreements and contracts is preferred.
