Nature of Position

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team on a part-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate(s) will provide personalized supports for individuals who currently reside in our Adult Supported Group Living Services. This role requires a commitment to work an hour base of 35-40 hours per pay period (bi-weekly), ensuring the highest quality of care and support is provided to our residents.

The candidate will have proven experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours. Applicants must have hands‑on experience working with Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and be confident implementing positive behaviour support strategies in line with the person's needs.

Compensation

$23.38 - $25.77 hourly

Hours and Availability

This part-time position entails 35-40 hours scheduled bi-weekly, covering weekdays, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Additionally, availability for pick-up of additional support hours when required is expected.

Responsibilities and Duties Include, but are not Limited to Case Management and House/Team Responsibilities

Assist with task assignments and contextual work explanation under the direction of the Team Lead.

Aid individuals in financial matters such as annual budget planning and tax preparation.

Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP) and Person-Centered Plans (PCP).

Facilitate medication setup and reconciliation on a weekly basis.

Conduct home inspections and ensure compliance with regulations and agency policies.

Foster client-centered approaches to encourage skill development, self-determination, and community inclusion.

Provide personal care with respect for individual dignity and preferences.

Implement program activities and goals while networking within the community for inclusion opportunities.

Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders through various formats.

Provide positive feedback to clients, supervisors, and external parties.

Ensure accurate documentation and reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required Skills, Education, and Knowledge

General educational background, usually equivalent to a Grade XII high school education.

A relevant 2-year Community College Diploma, related University Degree or equivalent experience in the field is considered an asset.

Experience in the social services field, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities is considered an asset.

Police clearance with vulnerable sector screening.

A valid G driver's license and insurable by the agency’s insurance company.

Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and ability to respond to individual needs and crisis situations in a calm, productive manner.

Well-developed organizational and communication skills are essential.

Experience working with and following Behaviour Support Plans (BSP’s) is a necessity.

Must be available to work, days, evenings, sleep shifts, weekends, and, must be committed to be available for call in shifts.
