The

Contract Manager

will provide contract and construction law information, tools and guidelines in accordance with company policy, standard industry practice and scope of work obligations required to achieve signed agreements with customers. The successful incumbent will have accountability for complex contract revisions, comprehensive risk assessments, change management, and managing difficult relationships. Oversee, train and document all day-to-day and monthly activities involved in contract review and negotiation on all active projects as well as supporting sales in the review of agreements included in the bidding process and completion of Subcontractor Prequalification applications as required.What you should expect: Overseeing 1 contracts administrator, this role is responsible for the review and execution of all day-to-day and monthly activities related to contract negotiations including setting parameters, guidelines and limits for signing; providing final authorization as required.Accountability for complex contract revisions, comprehensive risk assessments, change management, and managing difficult relationships Promotes and ensures a customer service orientated approach to delivery requirements with recognition of relevant constraints, timelines, and budgets. Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor, and ability to deal with multiple stakeholdersDirectly responsible for reviewing and working with Sales to negotiate all large Projects with appropriate terms and conditions Liaise and consult with Sales, Project Delivery and Credit departments to negotiate and structure contracts and agreements to manage risk to the business Maintain awareness of legislative changes pertaining to the Construction Act, implement any changes necessary in our contracts or processes to ensure we remain complaintProvide training to department personnel as required. Ensure all contracts are logged in, tracked, and processed/managed on time to ensure no interruption in project schedule or payments. Maintain customer database tracking agreement history with customers ensuring consistency of agreed terms. Work closely with Sales to complete all subcontractor prequalification applications as requiredWhat you should bring: Exceptional conflict resolution skills with the ability to convey difficult information effectively to ensure relationship remains effective Strong written and verbal communication skills, facilitating clear and open communication at all levels of the organization High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or factsExcellent internal and external customer service skills Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision Interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with various departments and customersExcellent training, coaching and mentoring skills Ability to supervise employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments Post-secondary education– University degree or College diploma in Business Administration, Law or equivalent experience. Post-secondary education in Contract Law or working experience in a related field considered an assetIn-depth knowledge of the New Construction Act is a must, with a preference for candidates who have achieved or working towards their IACCM certification Demonstrated experience drafting, redlining, and negotiating agreements Demonstrated experience leading a small team. Successful incumbent must have experience building a team, coaching and mentoring junior staff Proven experience juggling multiple priorities with the ability to meet strict deadlinesExceptional communication skills with the ability to convey difficult concepts into clear messages Commercially savvy Proven experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and a strong familiarity with implementing or utilizing AI-based tools for contract review and lifecycle management.
