Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Pre‑trip inspections (walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, ~50 lb pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, ~10 lb force on the crank)

Loading and unloading bulk / dump products

Tarping (opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers; ~15 lb force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 lb pulling to close)

Cleaning trailers (sweeping after unloading– climbing, bending and walking)

Cleaning trailers with frozen product inside

Removal of crossbows along the top of trailer (requires hammer to remove all 10 crossbows)

Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately 2‑4 times daily)

Driving (driving can vary between 1 to 4 hrs sitting and shifting the transmission)

Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and unloading

Dealing with malfunctioning equipment (trailer doors could get stuck, trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with the trapping system that may need extra force)

Knowledge of axle weights

Safe operation of equipment

Sub‑Functions

All paperwork (logbook, customs, trip envelopes)

Writing up equipment with defects

Fueling the truck

Keeping the truck clean inside

Use of electronic logging device (Peoplenet)

Employment Requirements

Must be physically fit to climb 12′ in and out of dump trailers, approximately 2‑4 times daily

Must be able to lift 20–25 kg of material in and out of trailers, 2‑4 times daily

Must be able to cross various borders between Canada and the U.S.; minimum of 1 year heavy‑haul experience

Alternatively, 3 years of over‑the‑road experience

AZ license, good CVOR and good driver’s abstract

Pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing required
