Landscaper (Guelph)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscape Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining and enhancing outdoor landscapes through various horticultural and construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening, landscape maintenance, and working with mechanical and power tools to create beautiful and sustainable outdoor environments. Duties - Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting to ensure healthy and attractive landscapes - Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for site preparation and construction projects - Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscapes - Use hand tools and power tools for planting, edging, aerating, and other gardening tasks - Assist with construction projects such as retaining walls, patios, or walkways using appropriate tools and techniques - Conduct routine inspections of landscape features and mechanical systems to identify issues early - Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal operation - Follow safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents or injuries on-site - Ability to lift heavy and work long hours on your feet Experience - Prior experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is preferred but not necessary - Mechanical knowledge related to operating machinery like excavators and irrigation systems is a plus - Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment is desirable - Knowledge of horticultural practices and plant care would be preferred - Experience working with irrigation systems or in landscape construction projects is beneficial - Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about outdoor work, landscaping, and construction.
