Landscape Labourer (Guelph)

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Landscape Labourer to join our team and assist with a variety of outdoor landscaping projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for landscape maintenance, and construction-related tasks. This role involves working outdoors in diverse weather conditions, backfilling pits/holes, repair ruts created by machinery, raking & grading, topsoiling & seeding, etc . The goal is to leave our worksites as positive as or better than when we arrived. Responsibilities - Operate hand tools (wheelbarrow, shovels, rakes) safely and effectively for various landscaping tasks - Backfill holes - Topsoil & Seed - Perform general landscaping duties - Have your own mode of transportation to and from work shop in Guelph - Use mechanical equipment such as excavators under supervision for excavation is a plus - Support construction activities related to landscape projects, including hardscape installation (cold patch) - Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and organized at all times - Follow safety protocols and environmental guidelines during all tasks Qualifications - Prior experience of landscape maintenance is preferred - Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment is a seen as a plus - Capable of manual labour for 7-9 hours a day in various weather conditions - Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction and landscaping projects - Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators is advantageous but not mandatory - Strong work ethic with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors - Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments - Valid driver’s license with a 3 year clean drivers abstract is a MUST for transportation of work vehicles to job sites - Experience with truck & trailer is a bonus (will add pay premium) This position offers a physically demanding yet rewarding job for a motivated individual looking to become part of a telecommunications team.
