Casual Patient Watch Security Guard Position Details: Position: Casual Patient Watch Security Guard Site: South Shore Regional Hospital (Bridgewater), Queens General Hospital (Liverpool), Fisherman's Memorial Hospital (Lunenburg). A successful candidate must be able to travel between the three locations. Hours: Hours may vary site to site (example Days, Nights, Rotating Shifts) Payrate: $ 20.50/hour Posting Date: Feb 26th, 2026 Key responsibilities: - Provide continuous observation of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevent self-harm or injury. - Monitor and report any unusual behavior, incidents, or safety concerns to clinical and security staff. - Maintain a respectful and non-invasive presence while observing patients. - Work closely with healthcare professionals, following facility protocols and directions. - De-escalate situations calmly and appropriately using non-violent crisis intervention techniques. - Document observations and incidents accurately and in a timely manner. - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to patient confidentiality regulations at all times. Prerequisites: - Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR Level C from CSA Approved provider. - English (oral and written) fluency is a must - Previous experience in security or a related field preferred. - Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills. - Ability to stay alert and attentive for extended periods. - Ability to work in high-stress environments and remain composed under pressure. - Ability to stand or sit for long periods and respond quickly in emergency situations. - Legally authorized to work in Canada - Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) are pre-requisites of this position.
