Fall Co-op Program - DevSecOps Engineer - NCSC, Halifax

About the role

The candidate will participate in a structured co‑op work‑study program between Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. and the college or university where they are enrolled in an accredited program directly related to the company's required skills. The candidate will perform assigned tasks in technical disciplines such as computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, and electrical engineering.Specifically, the candidate will work on software build, development and operations with a focus on security for the Canadian Surface Combatant (NCSC) project. The scope includes development and maintenance of the NCSC software development system, the software development environment, and/or the design of the NCSC tactical operational environment that will provide the framework to operate the combat management system (CMS) and related software. The tasks may include:Requirements engineering Detailed design implementation Software development in Java and C++ Unit testing and documentation Integration and deployment Troubleshooting Working in an Agile team environment What you bring to the role

Current student enrolled in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field Ability to program and debug using modern tools in an object‑oriented environment Knowledge of programming in Java and C++ Ability to obtain a NATO‑level 'Secret' security clearance in a timely mannerAbility to work 100% onsite Availability for four (4) months starting September 2026 Experience with Linux system administration or network management (highly desired) Familiarity with scripting languages Groovy and Gradle Knowledge of container design and usage Familiarity with software engineering processes and requirementsKnowledge of Agile/Scrum software development practices Good communication skills; ability to work in a team and independently A valid security clearance will be considered an asset Security requirements Controlled Goods Program: security clearance: NATO Secret What we offer
